Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour spooned & leveled
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk egg and yolk room temperature
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chunks
Optional
  • flaky sea salt for sprinkling flaky sea salt optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: melted butter, sugars, egg, yolk, vanilla.
  4. Combine dry and wet: stir until dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop onto baking sheets, bake 10–12 mins, cool on wire rack. Sprinkle with salt if desired.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool on the sheet.
