Method
- Marinate shrimp with soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic powder for 15 minutes.
- Place one marinated shrimp in the center of a wonton wrapper.
- Brush the edges of the wonton wrapper with beaten egg.
- Fold the wonton wrapper over the shrimp, pressing firmly to seal.
- Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wonton wrapped shrimp until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the shrimp and drain excess oil on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve immediately with sweet chili sauce, if desired.
Notes
Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture. Do not overcrowd the pot when frying.
