Method
- Whisk honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a bowl. Set aside.
- Whisk cornstarch and water until smooth in another bowl. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey-soy sauce mixture and bring to a simmer.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over rice or noodles. Garnish with green onions, if desired.
Notes
For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of chili oil.
