Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 250 g honey
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 2 pcs eggs
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 100 g candied citrus peel, chopped
  • 100 g dark chocolate, melted (for glazing)

Method
 

  1. Heat honey and brown sugar until dissolved, then cool slightly.
  2. Mix eggs with cooled honey mixture, then combine with dry ingredients to form dough.
  3. Fold in chopped citrus peel, refrigerate for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C, roll out dough, cut shapes, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Cool cookies and dip in melted chocolate or glaze as desired.
