Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  3. Simmer cream with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Layer potatoes, pour cream, and sprinkle cheese; repeat.
  5. Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes, then uncover and bake 15-20 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use fresh potatoes for best results and adjust seasoning to taste.
