Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x9-inch pan.
  2. Mix melted butter and brown sugar, add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and add to wet mixture; spread batter in pan.
  4. Mix sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over batter.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, cool before cutting.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or serve with vanilla ice cream.
