Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then mash with sugar, half and half, butter, egg, vanilla, and salt.
- Mix brown sugar, pecans, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg; stir in melted butter to form crumble. Spread over mashed sweet potatoes.
- Bake covered for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake 10 more minutes until pecans toast. Garnish with pecan halves if desired.
Notes
For best flavor, toast pecans before adding to the crumble.
